Sherena McMurdie will be here Thursday, September 19th with her show “Living in Happiness”.
She sings & plays the piano to Broadway show tunes, folk, classical, and original songs.

Welcome back the husband-and-wife duo, Jack and BJ Strucel.
Join us in the auditorium on August 22nd at 2:00pm where Jack & BJ Strucel will be entertaining our residents with their upbeat & fun show. They will be performing some of your favorite genres; Country, Big Band, Latin, R&B along with hits from the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s rock.

End of Summer Picnic
Tuesday, August 27th from 12:00 to 2:00pm– Get silly and put on your summer fun attire to join us in the auditorium to celebrate the end of summer.
For our summer themed picnic, we will be serving hot dogs, chips, cookies and cooling refreshments- iced tea & lemonade.
Be ready to strike a pose, “Best Dressed” wins a prize!

Book signing with award-winning author Jeanne Blanchet
El Dorado resident award-winning author Jeanne Blanchet will hold a book signing here at El Dorado on Monday, August 26 for her latest book, Tales From the Far Side, a delightful collection of imaginative short stories, some featuring humorous, chatty animals—not to mention mouthy inanimate objects. Many of the stories take place during cataclysmic historical events, such as the 2012 onslaught of Hurricane Sandy, and relate to timely issues like racism, alcoholism, and attitudes toward people with disabilities. Featuring Navajo code talkers, Tuskegee Airmen, hibakusha (disfigured atom bomb victims), and AI, Jeanne’s thought-provoking book is sure to captivate anyone who relishes a good, albeit far out, story. This special edition is illustrated with the author’s own artwork.
Valentine’s Day Dance
Residents enjoyed sipping on Champagne during a Valentine’s Dance on February 14th. They danced to big band music by Jack & BJ Strucel & had a wonderful time!
New Year’s Eve Dance
El Dorado residents enjoyed bringing in 2023 at our New Year’s Eve dance on December 31, 2022. They danced to big band music by Jack & BJ Strucel, sipped on champagne along with dessert after their elegant dinner.

El Dorado of Sun City Celebrates their Veterans
El Dorado of Sun City celebrated Veterans Day with a tribute to our veterans with Dan Reed & his trumpet group followed by a special program honoring our veterans from World War II, Korean Confederate & Vietnam War.

El Dorado is fortunate to have such giving residents. For the third year in a row, a new Kia Soul has been graciously donated by one of our residents. Francisca Valdez from our housekeeping department was this year’s winner!
